Small business is the backbone of our economy and accounts for over 90% of all new jobs created.  I have spent all of my career as an attorney and CPA advising small businesses and have written two books on entrepreneurship and taught the subject on a college level. 

• Establish entrepreneurship training so that those with the ideas and passion can be connected to the resources to assist them.  The key is to create an  entrepreneurial climate by which business startup s are encouraged.
• Reform regulations and establish programs to assist small businesses comply with the rules and cut through red tape.  
• Expanding and strengthening our core industries of maritime and shipbuilding activities and related industries in Louisiana in particular assisting with workforce development and recruiting.
• Supporting association health care plans to help small businesses afford the high costs of health care.
• Fighting to end the estate tax, which robs too many families of the great American dream - passing on their family business to their children.
